Every map has coordinates the world chose to forget.

A small rock in the Indian Ocean where eighty people waited fifteen years for a ship that never came. A subantarctic cliff where a French crayfish factory left seven workers behind when they went bankrupt. A frozen Arctic island where a young Inuit seamstress buried four men and taught herself to hunt polar bears. These places are on Google Earth today. Almost no one knows what happened there. About Forgotten Coordinates

Every episode is a place you can still visit.

Forgotten Coordinates is a research project and a YouTube channel about the islands history walked away from. The stories we cover — a French noblewoman marooned by her own uncle, a Chinese sailor stranded 133 days at sea, forty French convicts a king simply forgot about — are all documented, all verifiable, and all tied to real coordinates you can find on Google Earth right now.
